The Parish Council has previously drawn residents' attention to the massive development planned for West of Ifield. The proposal is for a total of 10,000 new homes and a bypass - with 3,500 homes earmarked for phase one.

The project will have significant repercussions for everyone living and working in the vicinity - not just those living in Ifield. There are serious concerns about the impact it will have on the already-stretched public services such as health provision, education etc. In addition, the gap between the 10k development (at Faygate) and the North of Horsham development will be less than one mile.

The developer, Homes England, is holding further consultations this week to enable existing and future residents to view what they call the "up to date Masterplan". Representatives from Homes England will be on hand to answer any questions.

The consultations will be held on Thursday (20th) at Apple Tree Centre, Ifield Ave, Crawley RH11 0AF between 1pm - 7pm; on Friday (21st) at Ifield Barn Theatre, 2 Ifield St, Crawley RH11 0NN (2pm-7pm) and on Saturday at Rusper Village Hall, Horsham Rd, Rusper, Horsham RH12 4PR between 10am-3pm.

An online webinar will be held on Tuesday 1st November between 7pm-8pm. To sign up, email your full name and postcode to westofifield@homesengland.gov.uk and you will receive the sign-up link 24 hours before the event.

Save West of Ifield campaigners say that any response to Homes England objecting to the proposals does not count as a response to Horsham District Council’s plans. Horsham Council hope to publish their Local Plan for consultation in February 2023 and those who wish to make their views known are urged to write to both Horsham Council and Homes England.
