2021/22 Financial Year
Update (29th September 2022): The Parish Council Accounts for the 2021/2022 financial year have been formally approved by the External Auditor.
The External Auditor's Report & Certificate and also the Notice of Conclusion of Audit are available to view below.
The Parish Council has published its budget for the new financial year which runs from 1st April 2021 to 31st March 2022.
Projected spending over the next 12 months amounts to £95,900 and this has resulted in a precept request to Mole Valley District Council of £73,821, a 1% increase compared to a year ago.
The Parish Council is anticipating some significant expenditure in the coming year as it seeks to make progress on two prime issues concerning the villages of Charlwood and Hookwood: namely combating the traffic problems that plague both on a daily basis and also to provide a much-needed car park in Charlwood.
There is likely to be refurbishments and improvements to the playgrounds as well as the annual expense of maintaining the Pavilion, the Recreation Ground and the Millennium Field in Charlwood and the Withey in Hookwood.
The budget document can be viewed by clicking on the link below.
Because Parish Councils spend public money, their finances are scrutinised closely by both an Internal and External Auditor. The process for this year has now been completed. Section 1 and 2 of the 2021/22 Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) were approved by Councillors at their 20th June meeting and signed off. The Internal Auditor approved them at around the same time and the documents then went forward to the External Auditor who have now given their approval.
The External Auditor's Report and Certificate (AGAR Section 3) can be viewed below along with the Internal Auditor's Report and Certificate (AIAR) and Sections 1 and 2 of the AGAR. The AGAR is available for inspection by any local government elector in the area of Charlwood Parish Council - for details of how to apply, click on the Notice of Conclusion of Audit below.
